The author, Gene P. Abel, brings a successful and diverse educational and professional background to his analysis of the political climate we face today.
Mr. Abel’s formal education includes bachelor of science in finance from Penn State and a masters of business administration from Lehigh University. Mr. Abel was a member of the Republican Committee in Chester County, PA in the mid-seventies and later became a Democrat after Regan. His thirty years as a highly successful business executive include Dean of a Community College, VP of a Bank, head of the services division at a teaching hospital, administrator of a department at an Ivy league university and his last position was the COO of a large school district.
He began his career as a Regular Army officer with such diverse assignments as Nuclear Weapons Officer in the Field Artillery and later an Army Finance officer. Abel accepted a Reserve Commission upon completing four years on active duty. He graduated from the Army War College and was nominated for promotion to Brigadier General. He retired after 30 years of service as a Colonel. Abel was awarded the Army Commendation Medal of the Meritorious Service Medal on two occasions.
